Turning and Repositioning Report

An at-a-glance account of a patient’s daily turning and movement

Pressure ulcers are often low-hanging fruit for plaintiff’s lawyers, because many residents in elder care facilities are already at risk for developing skin integrity issues. A wound care policy combined with complete, accurate documentation will go a long way in proving your facility took all appropriate skin prevention and treatment measures.

Excelas’ Turning and Repositioning Report can be quickly and easily interpreted for use in determining whether or not the standard of care was met in a wound case.

Key Benefits of the Turning and Repositioning Report

  • A simple, visual layout that anyone can readily understand
  • Completely customizable to track any issues of concern
  • Demonstrates the consistency of routine care given to the resident
  • Evidence that physician’s orders were followed

As part of our defense strategy, we wanted to be able to visualize the turning and repositioning efforts made by our staff during the plaintiff’s hospitalization. We approached Excelas with this challenge, and together, we developed a new, interactive report that goes beyond a simple spreadsheet of entries in the medical record. We anticipate the use of this report to be very helpful in our ongoing litigation efforts. It was a pleasure to collaborate with Excelas on this new addition to our toolbox.
